RaeNotes fills in ICF's official mentor coaching forms from the markings you place on your recordings: a Session Observation Form for each observed session, and a Competency Review Form across three sessions. Every rating, verdict and piece of evidence on the form comes from what you marked, with the words that were actually spoken.
| Form | What it covers | Where you get it |
|---|---|---|
| Session Observation Form (ACC, PCC, MCC) | One recording: a rating for every behavioral statement, the evidence behind it, the Competency 1 qualifiers, and your strengths and development feedback. | On the recording, with Export → Microsoft Word → the ICF template of the recording's level. See Fill in a Session Observation Form. |
| Competency Review Form (ACC, PCC, MCC) | Three observed sessions: which statements the coach demonstrated, whether each competency meets the requirement, the session log, and cumulative feedback citing moments from the sessions. | In your library, select three recordings → Competency review. See Prepare a Competency Review Form. |
| Scores tab preview | What the Session Observation Form will show, live, while you mark the session. | On the recording, the Scores tab. See Preview the form in the Scores tab. |
Each form is built for one competency model. Mark the recording against the model of the credential level you are mentoring for:
When you export, RaeNotes offers only the form of the recording's model; the others are greyed out.
ACC and MCC rate every behavioral statement on a scale: Exceeds Standard, Meets Standard, Below Standard, Does Not Meet Standard or N/A. A session reports one rating per statement:
PCC markers are Observed or Not Observed. Following ICF's PCC rubric, a marker is observed when the session holds the evidence the rubric asks of it: one clear piece for some markers, more than one for others. Pieces from different sessions do not add up. Competency 2 is observed when at least two different mindset markers (4.1, 4.3, 4.4, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4, 6.1, 6.5, 7.1, 7.5) are observed.
A competency meets the requirement when at least two thirds of its statements, rounded up, are demonstrated: 3 of 4, or 2 of 3. Competencies 1 and 2 are attested by you as the mentor coach rather than counted.
On every level, Q1 (alignment with the ICF Code of Ethics) is ticked from statement 1.1, and Q2 (alignment with the role of a coach) from statement 1.2:
